OK, this is where I get to tell you about other sites on the web and links to things that strike my interest and fancy and are just plain cool [sadly, I'm old enough to think using the word "cool" is somehow hip].

Reverie Fair. The most fabulous Carly Kemper Bos and Laura Slivinski have started an online magazine focused on women, children and creativity. Their debut issue can be found here: http://www.reveriefair.com/. My artwork is featured in the first issue and I will stepping in behind the scenes as features editor moving forward. We are all very excited about this and will be bringing you a magazine filled with gorgeous and offbeat photos, wonderful artists and original writing [plus contests]. May's issue is fast approaching and I have a column to finish.

Teen Writers and Artists Project. Spoken word poetry workshops for teens and those acting like teens. Check out some of these writers and then the idea that these people will be running the world in about 20 years won't seem so scary.  http://teenwritersandartists.ning.com/

Waterline Writers. Think that writers reading their work doesn't draw a crowd, think again.  http://www.waterlinewriters.org/

Maureen Gasek. My generous, talented painting teacher. Buy her paintings.   http://www.maureenartist.com/

Adam Gottlieb. Poet extraordinaire and the living embodiment of peace, love and hip hop folk. http://peoplearepoets.blogspot.com/

Hyperbole and a Half. I bought Allie Brosh's book and then discovered her website, which is just hysterical, quirky, and touching. I read some of these stories aloud with my daughter and we were made helpless with laughter. P.S. I bleeped over the swear words so don't call child services.   http://hyperboleandahalf.blogspot.com

This American Life. Sure they are trendy and popular and don't need a shout out from me but I do love their stories [mixed with really atmospheric music].  http://www.thisamericanlife.org/

Natural Talent Productions. Because a young, driven, talented director and producer [aka Jacqueline Schultz] should be encouraged and supported.

Brain Pickings. Maria Popova curates and writes a great site for ideas, culture, art, humanity or as she says "interestingness" for what matters in life. You may or may not agree. I usually agree. http://www.brainpickings.org/
